About the Event
Join us on Tuesday, January 31st at 7 PM via Zoom for our first “Equity At Work” session of 2023! Our panel, comprised of voices from across human resources, advocacy work, social services, and media will take a deep dive into “Confronting The Angry Black Woman Stereotype.”
Last year Harvard Business Review wrote that the ABW stereotype “has penetrated many parts of American culture, including the workplace. This pervasive stereotype not only characterizes Black women as more hostile, aggressive, overbearing, illogical, ill-tempered and bitter, but it may also be holding them back from realizing their full potential in the workplace — and shaping their work experiences overall.”
We invite the Black community and our allies to join us on January 31st as we discuss and dismantle the barriers this stereotype creates, and its implications on workplace safety and equality for Black women. A guest panel conversation will be moderated by Chrissy Thornton, President & CEO of Associated Black Charities.
