Witherspoon Established in 1969, this agency was formed to provide mental health services to the poor and under-served living within the Central Harlem community. Currently, the agency sponsors eleven programs including out-patient mental health counseling with children, adolescents, adults and geriatric clients; a pre-school day nursery program, and an adult continuing day treatment program for the seriously persistent mentally ill; educational, vocational and transitional employment; food services; clothing distribution; family counseling; HIV/AIDs related services; pregnancy prevention; senior services; crisis intervention; advocacy and out patient clinics for alcohol abuse and dual addiction.
