Knowledge Insurance Treatment Advocacy
A Program to Fight Disparities in Healthcare

Martin Luther King once observed that "Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane."

The health of minority Americans is imperiled by their disproportionate "burdens of diseases, disability, and premature death" as a result of the lack of access to and failed delivery of quality healthcare.

In recognition of the central importance of great health to high educational achievement as well as social and economic success, Associated Black Charities has initiated KITA (Knowledge, Insurance, Treatment, and Advocacy) to eliminate health disparities in New York City.

A Black Philanthropic Though. . .
Along with William H. and Camille O. Cosby, Associated Black Charities has established The William H. and Camille O. Cosby Philanthropic Award to recognize those who most exemplify the Cosby's philosophy of service to improve education and health and human services to less fortunate African Americans.
